Volta a Portugal will cause traffic restrictions in Braga
Noon friday, august 12th, the 83rd Tour of Portugal will take place in the city of Braga, for what will be the seventh stage of the tour. In a statement to which the News by the Minute Access, Public Security (PSP) had access to the safety of everyone who participated in the race.
Between 7 am and 10 pm, road traffic will be prohibited from the Rotunda de Maio to the intersection of Avenida Imaculada Conceição and Avenida da Liberdade.
There will also be some restrictions on car circulation, between 4 pm and 6 pm, in some of the city’s main arteries – some of the Cávado avenues; no Infias Knot; on Avenida António Macedo; on Avenida Padre Júlio Fragata; on Avenida João Paulo II; and from Via da Falperra (EN309) to Avenida da Liberdade.
In the same note, the PSP also recommends that motorists plan their trips “in advance”, in order to “avoid restrictions” in their trajectories, as well as the use of “alternative arteries”.
The authority also ask the police for the citizens to follow the prison as evidence throughout the town; watch the race in the indicated places, away from the shoulder and without interfering with the circulation of cyclists; and so that they do not cross or circulate “by any means” in the athletes’ passageways.
“The circulation of indicated lanes is strictly prohibited, regardless of the reason (even logistical operations such as supply of establishments, delivery of parcels, etc.)”, generated the statement.
