Uplifting training camp for KRS: – Promises full speed with exciting players
Last week we played a training match during the Generations Cup in Viborg to prepare for a new season in the Eliteserien. Despite three losses, we have developed the team well. Now we are ready for battle in Aquarama next Friday.
– We are now back in Kristiansand after a great week in the Generation Cup in Viborg. There we have carried out nine training finders and three training scorers. It has been a tough week physically, but being together for a whole week has been important for the social aspect of the team. All contributions in the environment, which make you feel great together between sessions, says trainer Thorbjørn «Tobben» Evjen.
– All three training matches ended in losses, but we developed ourselves and the job with details, both offensively and defensively. We have played 5–1 in all the games, and the players delivered better and better performances throughout the week, adds Tobben.
The teams we met in Denmark were Mors-Thy Handball, KIF Kolding and Bjerringbro-Silkeborg Handball.
In the first match against Mors-Thy, the loss was 37–28 (19–17). Tobben reported that he received many positive responses, especially in the first 45 minutes, when all the players got to try themselves. It was a lot of new things that had to be tried out with so many new players in the group. The focus during the stay was interaction and relationship building.
Narrow loss against Kolding
The match against KIF Kolding was a good match from our side, we led 12–10 at the break after Anders Lynge had a very good half in goal (save percentage of 49 percent!). The defensive game also had a good increase compared to the first game against Mors-Thy. Kristoffer Pedersen did a very good lap, but the team effort is what we want to achieve the most.
In the second half, the teams followed each other closely until the final signal. We lost 25-26, but all in all it was a good game. Kristoffer Pedersen and Preben Leander Nord-Varhaug became our top scorers in this match after scoring four goals each.
More players excel themselves
The last game match ended 32–39 in favor of BSH. After every match we have played in Denmark, our level has increased. We take with us good experience from playing against some of the best laws in Denmark.
Our right winger Mikkel Sandholm Mortensen excelled very well during the last game, he has good qualities out on the wing. He became the team’s top scorer with six nets in six attempts. Otherwise, Kristoffer Pedersen is also excellent. He showed that he is extremely skilled in a man situation. Kristian Gyberg came on and played the last few minutes. He made a good figure in defense and scored a goal on a shot attempt.
Even with three losses, the three training matches in Denmark have been very uplifting.
Love full fart
This weekend, the public can watch KRS in Aquarama when Bækkelaget and Ryger (the merger of SIF and Viking) come to Kristiansand to play training matches.
Friday’s match against Bækkelaget will be played at 18.00, while Saturday’s game against Ryger plays at 4 p.m.
– Come and see us in Aquarama. We love full speed with many exciting players, both new and old. They must make a proper effort for this city to get a top team, says Tobben before the weekend’s training matches in Kristiansand.
