Ukraine received from Britain three more M270 MLRS and shells for them
Defense Minister Ben Wallace confirmed that the United Kingdom has received twice as many M270 multiple-launch fire systems in Ukraine, three such MLRS have been transferred so far.
This is reported by the publication BBC.
Defense Secretary Ben Wallace confirmed to the BBC that he will now send three more to Ukraine, as well as a “significant” number of missiles they launch. According to him, this high-precision weapon is ready for Ukraine to target Russian ammunition supplies and command centers.
Wallace announced this in Copenhagen, where he is participating in an international conference with allies who promise to continue military and financial support for Ukraine.
He said that Britain is “very satisfied” with the way Ukraine is using missile launchers that have already been provided by the West. According to him, the Ukrainian forces have shown that they better distinguish which targets to hit so that they do not quickly run out of ammunition. Wallace, in addition to the fact that this is part of Ukraine’s transition from using old Soviet-era weapons to modern NATO weapons.
“Our continued support sends a very clear message: Britain and the international community remain opposed to this illegal war and stand side by side in providing defensive military assistance to Ukraine to help it defend itself against Putin’s invasion,” the British minister said.
It is noted that Britain has already provided three launchers similar to the American HIMARS systems. They have the same missiles with a range of up to 80 kilometers.
By the way, Germany handed over the Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled guns to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In addition, the Federal Government of Germany approved the sale of 100 Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled artillery units to Ukraine. Ukraine made a request to purchase such equipment back in April.
