Toulouse. Man who tried to kill his dog with an ax found dead

At the end of the afternoon, Wednesday August 10, 2022, the gendarmes of Castanet-Tolosan intervened at the home of the Liam’s owner, the dog found seriously injured with an ax on Saturday in the rural district of Pouvourville in Toulouse. They found him dead, tells Toulouse news several sources familiar with the matter, confirming information from The Midi Dispatch.
Called for an audition, he does not show up
Released after seriously injuring his 2-year-old dog with an axe, the 46-year-old owner of the animal was summoned Wednesday morning for a hearing by the gendarmes of Castanet, in charge of the investigation, but he did not present himself to the brigade. The soldiers therefore went to his home, in the town of Toulouse, to arrest him. It was there that they discovered that the inanimate body of the individual, who would have gave death. In charge of the investigation, the police confirm that the track of suicide is privileged. His body will however be autopsied, at the request of the Toulouse prosecutor’s office.
The dog victim of abuse and acts of cruelty
Abused for months, Liam experienced an ordeal on Saturday morning, when his owner had “decided to remove it with an ax”, had alerted an association for the defense of the animal cause. This young mastiff boxer crossed staff had been the victim of abuse and acts of cruelty, in the wood of Pouvourville, had indicated the gendarmes of the company of Villefranche-de-Lauragais. His owner had it left for dead after giving him several blows with an ax which broke the bones of his skull, sinuses, and left entrails on his body. The dog had managed to escape, before being brought to the vet, and succeeded in the process. His days are not in danger.
Alerted by the suspect’s ex-partner, the gendarmes quickly intervened on the spot and arrested the attacker of Liam nearby. Being the subject of an open investigation for abuse and acts of cruelty to an animal, he encouraged a sentence of three years in prison and a 45,000 euro fine.
