The well-known Husa in the center of Prague invites you to good food for reasonable money
Finding a restaurant in the very heart of Prague, where you can find well-cooked food made from quality ingredients at a reasonable price, is not exactly an easy task. But the locals know, and that’s why the Potrefená Husa restaurant in Hybernská street is full of satisfied customers.
A few steps from Masaryk railway station and Náměstí Republiky you will find one of the restaurants of the Potrefená Husa chain. If you happen to be in the center of Prague during the day, this is a great tip on where to go and eat well. The truth is that I myself have always been there during the lunchtime offer, so I have no idea what the offer is like in the evening, but I have tried the lunches and can recommend them. This time, however, I ordered home via the app We will give food.
Since the deadline won’t wait and the school canteens don’t work during the holidays, I was happy to take advantage of the family lunch offer and ordered food for the full screen. And when we have it colorful, I took it from top to bottom 🙂 It’s not exactly a restaurant in my neighborhood, and I brazenly got hungry during the lunch rush, so I acknowledge that the food arrived within an hour. Packed in plastic divided boxes, thanks to which the side dishes did not get soggy.
What kind of lunch menu would it be without steak! There were three in Potrefená Husy’s presentation cutlets from pork tenderloin with potato salad and a lemon wedge (179 CZK). I was completely satisfied, the meat was soft and juicy, the salad well seasoned. A classic that makes the heart of every Czech dance.
they were the next meal Szechuan Chicken Thigh and Breast Noodles with Peking Cabbage, Judas Ear, Bell Peppers and Steamed Rice (CZK 169). It wasn’t exactly authentic china, but rather the real Czech china that we love. The meat was soft, the sauce had a pleasant taste, the rice was well cooked and the portion was more than generous.
The next item on the menu was slow-cooked beef shoulder with vegetables, potato rosti, ox eye and mayonnaise with boiled eggs and spring onions (199 CZK). A free variation on the well-known Austrian Tafelspitz was also successful. The meat was fantastically tender and the homemade mayo went well with it. Given that it was a meal from the lunch shift, it was understandable that potato chips from a frozen semi-finished product. If I had ordered this dish from the regular menu, I would have appreciated the homemade rosti, but it was OK this way.
But it was the highlight of today’s order for me smoked beef tongue with horseradish sauce and bread dumpling (CZK 169). For me, this sauce is a bit backward, and at the same time I think it is by far the most interesting of all Czech sauces. Served by Potrefené Husy, it was really delicious, creamy, slightly sweet, and at the same time spicy with horseradish. I also appreciate the use of smoked tongue which is absolutely brilliant, it was cooked beautifully soft, the dumplings had exactly the part I like, no soft foam but a perfect bread dumpling. In short, perfectly prepared classic Czech food that should be on menus much more often.
For me, Potrefená Husa in Hybernská is a good choice if you’re hungry and want to have a satisfying lunch. And it doesn’t matter if you go to the restaurant for it or order via We will give food.
