Moissac. Musical evening with the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra
Saturday, the forecourt of the abbey of Moissac vibrated to the sound of tunes interpreted by an orchestra of professionals.
It’s a whole orchestra, and not just any, that gathered on the forecourt of the abbey for an exceptional concert last Saturday, in Moissac. Tourists and inhabitants of the territory have indeed benefited from the excellence of the chamber orchestra of Toulouse, at the beginning of August. A seat was no longer free on the seats provided for the listeners, but even standing as much as the informed music lovers, as lovers of beautiful music, were at the rendezvous.
Customers resting on the terraces were also able to enjoy this unique moment in an exceptional setting, as can be judged by the audience’s applause after each piece performed and until the encores at the end of the concert.
A standing ovation
The public was able to hear and listen to well-known opera arias, such as “L’Amour est enfant de Bohème”, or “Toréador” and others such as excerpts from Lully’s Overture, “Four Seasons” by Vivaldi, the 1st movement of the symphony N° 40 by Mozart, “the symphony” by Britten, the “Dragons” by Alcala and finally, an extract from the “Carnival of the Animals” by Camille Sain-Saëns… This the latter aroused the enthusiasm of the public, who stood up to give the eleven musicians of the Toulouse chamber orchestra a standing ovation.
These were presented by Nohora Munios who put all her knowledge to make known the pieces that were going to be interpreted, while solos, with Audrey Dupond, Aurélie Fouchous, Nicolas Kononovitch added a complementary dimension to the work played.
At the end of the concert, the mayor Romain Lopez and his deputy for culture Sophie Lopez, thanked the artists for this concert of very high quality and the “great delight they transmitted to the public present. During this summer period, many activities are also offered (see box).
