Flames arrived near houses in Altopascio

(ANSA) – ALTOPASCIO (LUCCA), 11 AUG – More than 20 hectares of woods (5 hectares) and brushwood (15 hectares) were burned in the afternoon following a fire in Villa Campanile, a hamlet in the municipality of Castelfranco di Sotto ( Pisa), on the border with the province of Lucca. The other front of the fire was in the territory of Altopascio (Lucca). The situation has been brought under control, remediation operations have been activated to prevent the fire from restarting.

Firemen teams were sent from the commands of Pisa, Lucca, Pistoia and Prato. To put out the flames, two helicopters and numerous regional forest firefighting teams were also needed.
