Workers’ strikes are illegal
With today’s decision, the Single-member Court of First Instance of Thessaloniki ruled illegal the strike actions carried out by the last workers of the “Malamatina SA” Winery in Kalochori Thessaloniki, as informed by today’s announcement of the company’s management.
“With today’s decision of the Single-Member Court of First Instance of Thessaloniki, it was decided that the strike actions carried out by certain trade unionists at the corporate establishment of “OINOPOIIA MALAMATINA S.A.E.V.E.” in Kalochori, have been proclaimed illegally, in the absence of their members and without legal decisions having been taken by their statutory bodies”, the company’s announcement states.
The winery also states that “this decision vindicates its positions and exposes the behavior of the group of trade unionists who, with the assistance of unrelated third parties, have illegally kept the unit blocked for two weeks, denying entry to those workers who do not they agree with their views and want to work.”
In this context, the management of the company announces that it reserves the right to ensure in any legal way, both the rights of its shareholders, as well as the long-term interest of the historical company and its employees.
