With the suspension of freight traffic, the work on the Kiskunhalas-Kelebia railway section can enter a new phase
In July, we reported that the railway line between Szeged and Röszke will be temporarily bypassed by transit goods during the development period of the Budapest-Kelebia railway line. According to MÁVINFORM, the 13-kilometer-long track between Szeged and Röszke was completed, so freight traffic on the line started on August 1. The works were carried out by V-Híd Zrt. completed it.
The Budapest-Kunszentmiklós-Tass-Kelebia railway line No. 150 of MÁV Zrt. is being developed as part of the Budapest-Belgrade project. The entire Hungarian section is being rebuilt by a consortium consisting of three members, on behalf of the V-Híd Zrt. works as a subcontractor.
The old tracks will be demolished, rebuilt, and a completely new second track will be built next to it. The overhead line network will also be dismantled and rebuilt. After the renovation, the permitted speed will be 160 km/h on the approximately 150 km long track.
Some of the dismantled materials are used again
The line is Kiskunhalas– On the Kelebia section, MÁV Zrt. carried out night freight traffic from Serbia, so the contractor has not had the opportunity to demolish the current track until now. From August 1, however, freight train traffic between Szeged and Röszke was able to start, at the same time the complete track closure on Kiskunhalas came into effect.– On the Kelebia section. Kelebia and Kelebia, the exclusion is not complete, two passenger trains continue to arrive from Szabadka.
With the start of the track closure, the works began: the safety device was already switched off on the Kiskunhalas-Kelebia section as well. Between Kisszállás and Kelebia, the current track will be demolished in three short sections in order to replace the existing culverts with new frame bridges. After the reconstruction of the bridges, the track will be rebuilt so that work train traffic can be ensured.
The demolished overhead line concrete foundations are ground in the depot area, while the excavated crushed stone is recycled in the substructure.
Platform walkways are being built at Csengőd and Kiskőrös
At Kelebia station, the overhead line will be dismantled in August. From the middle of the month, the security equipment will be partially turned off, and passenger traffic will be restricted to II. will be conducted on a track. The superstructure will also be demolished from mid-August, and the construction of the platform underpass will begin in September.
In August, Kisszállás and Kiskunhalas conduct archaeological excavations, deliver materials and distribute rails. Construction will continue in September with earthworks and rail transport.
The reconstruction of Kiskőrös and Csengőd also continues: the track and safety equipment cables are being dismantled. The substructure and track are being built in Kiskőrös, and the construction of the framework structures and the platform underpass is also progressing well.
At the Csengőd stop, the construction of the platform underpass has also begun, and the framework structures are being built. The four large-radius detours required for the construction of the traffic detour have arrived.
