Thessaloniki: They were arrested for stealing peppers from a farm
Peppers were allegedly stolen from the members of a family in Thessaloniki. It is about an androgynous man and two minor boys, citizens of Albania, who were spotted by the owner of the farm and arrested by alerted policemen on the spot.
The 39-year-old father and his 37-year-old wife were brought to court with the automatic procedure, while the children, aged 17 and 14, were released with a verbal order from the prosecution. The burden of the first one was criminally prosecuted for joint theft and for threatening, while the second one is accused of complicity in joint theft. The defendants were referred to be tried at the 1st Single Member Criminal Court of Thessaloniki, with an express trial, next October.
According to the indictment, the offenses were committed in the early morning hours today, in a plot of land located in the Tagarades area. The man and his wife allegedly removed 20 kilos of peppers with a total value of 100 euros and loaded them into a vehicle. Their passenger property, where the minors stayed as boarders. However, the 29-year-old owner arrived at the scene, blocked the exit of the farm with his car and then notified the police.
The family members were arrested by police officers from the Thermi Security Department. During the arrest, the 39-year-old accused allegedly threatened the owner with the phrase “we who meet again”.
