the large basin of the Nakache swimming pool has reopened
The large pool at the Nakache swimming pool in Toulouse reopened on Wednesday August 10, 2022. It had closed for technical reasons at the start of the week.
Its reopening is timely in these hot weather. The large basin of the Nakache swimming poolon the Ile du Ramier in Toulouse, is once again accessible to swimmers since Wednesday August 10 2022. It had been closed for swimming last Monday.
In question: “a technical problem”. An electrical failure had effectively tripped the pool’s filtration system. The chlorine level had thus become “insufficient”. It was 0.6 mg/L whereas it should have been between 2 and 5 mg/L.
Why had the Nakache swimming pool in Toulouse closed?
These filtration and chlorine problems, combined with the high temperatures and the sun’s radiation, had “resulted in the appearance of algae”. The water then became cloudy and made the work of the lifeguards difficult.
Late Monday afternoon, the circuit breaker of the filtration system had been changed and a chlorine treatment carried out. But the large basin could not reopen yesterday. Indeed, the renewal of the water had “not been able to operate correctly” because of a malfunction of the water level sensor.
The analyzes of the pool water are “good”
But all the problems are now solved. The municipal swimming pool services actually restarted the system and carried out a complete 10-hour filtration cycle. This morning, the water analyzes were “good”indicates the town hall.
The large basin, 150 meters long and 48 meters wide, was thus able to reopen. As a reminder, it had already had to close on July 20 for technical reasons. The heavy traffic had indeed required additional unscheduled maintenance.
