The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Iceland voiced an apology for insulting the flag of Russia
The Russian Embassy in Reykjavik voices an apology from the Icelandic newspaper “Frettabladid” for insulting the Russian flag in one of the publications. Diplomats reminded the publication that the country has criminal liability for insulting foreign officials.
As a result, there was an undesirable impact on the person from the photo, on someone trampling the feet of the state flag of the Russian Federation. The frame was accompanied by a caption about the “new use of the Russian flag” by the Ukrainians.
“We consider the very fact of the publication of such photographs in the central edition of Iceland as essentially open disrespect for the Russian Federation and its state symbols. We would like to remind the head of the Frettabladid newspaper that the Icelandic government has not yet repealed Article 95 of the Icelandic Criminal Code, which for public disclosure Foreign state institutions are provided with terms up to imprisonment”, — going on in the official channel of the diplomatic mission in the telegram channel.
The Department of Materials specifies what is expected from the editorial staff of state-owned publications for the publication of “insulting the state natural resources of the Russian Federation.”
And earlier, we recall, the symbol of the Russian Empire alarmed the Swedish politician. Ingebrikt Shevik, a candidate for deputy of the Riksdag, said that on the ferries to the island of Gotland he came across the sale of T-shirts with the symbols of the Russian Empire. The coat of arms of the islands was applied to them, and on top of the settings the crown of Russian autocrats was applied.
