Residents of an EHPAD in Côte-d’Or
exhibit on the gates of the Darcy garden in Dijon
from August 12 to September 7, 2022
Portraits d’amour(s) is the result of a survey conducted among residents and the healthcare team of the EHPAD Les Ducs de Bourgogne in Messigny-et-Vantoux (21).
Part of the collective’s project around the dramaturgical issues of Dom Juan de Molière, Portraits d’amour(s) expose the love experiences of the residents through photographs and a podcast.
It is from Molière’s text that the dialogue was activated between the collective and the residents of the EHPAD so that they could open up about their notion of commitment in the sphere of the intimate, through the passing time and the dimension of care within an EHPAD.
Collected by a journalist, their testimonies were then interpreted by the Dijon visual artist photographer Grégoire B-Thorin who worked around their archive photos when photographer Annah Schaeffer immortalized their portrait today.
Immersive exhibition, the twelve portraits are accompanied by a podcast that the general public will be able to discover by means of a QRcode to listen to the testimonies of the residents and the care team retracing their love life and the importance of love and care at work.
The project was led by Alice Thalamy, co-founder of A vrai dire collective, actress and director, and supervised for the occasion by the Dijon visual artist photographer Grégoire B-Thorin (www.gregoirebthorin.com), journalist Aphelandra Siassia (podcast author – www.facebook.com/jouir.podcast), photographer Annah Schaeffer (www.annah-schaeffer.com) and graphic designer Jean Puibaraud.

About A real collective truth:
The place of the actor is perpetually re-examined, this instability makes it possible to create and give birth to other theatrical forms. By breaking the classical pattern, we are doing everything we can to invent the theater in the present. Sharing is at the center of our artistic research. We are totally committed to theatrical creation from the idea of the show to its presentation to the public. We aim to be perpetually active during its development.
