Excursion to the mountains: Confirmations from the Wunstorfer Stiftsgemeinde start the holiday seminar in Austria

Confirmands from the Protestant church district of Neustadt-Wunstorf can experience holiday seminars again in the Austrian town of Wagrain for the first time after a two-year Corona break. The free time lasts almost two weeks. From the congregation alone, 30 young people took the bus to the seminar on Sunday evening.

In the mountain landscape, for example, the young people experience a baptism in a mountain lake and deal with Psalm 23 in a narrow mountain gorge. The program also includes devotions, festivals and day trips. Monastery pastor Volker Milkowski was excited about the shared experiences on the descent: “It’s great to see how the confis can experience God’s creation so closely. This will accompany them well beyond the confirmation period.” He thanked Autohaus Schulz for providing a car free of charge to transport the material to Austria.
More than 400 confirmations at holiday seminars
As early as 1999, the Neustadt communities started the holiday seminars in the youth hotel Wurzenrainer in Wagrain. More than half of all confirmands in a year group come to Neustadt. And many alumni gain their first experience as youth workers.
