A circle full of stories from the history of the 20th century will open in KC Zahrada
In the first half of September, the National Memory Theater in KC Zahrada will start the first semester of the theater club. The circle is open to children and young people from 12 to 18 years of age and will work with the stories of witnesses of historical events of the 20th century. Students will familiarize themselves with archival materials and work together on the script for the final production.
In the theater group, everyone gets to know selected events of our modern history in detail. They look at photographs, go through archival materials, documents and meet the witness in person. This gives the event authenticity.
Young people can easily empathize with the feelings and challenges faced by the witnesses of the time they lived through at the same age as the participants now. The script for the final performance is created from the memorial narratives.
The workshop is facilitated by experienced lecturer Šimon Pliska. Šimon is a graduate of HAMU, actor, mime, clown and animator. He has been working with children for a long time. The semester will have 15 meetings of 1.5 hours each and takes place in KC Zahrada on Tuesdays 16:30-18:00 from 13 September 2022.
You can register on the website of the Theater of the Nation.
