Toulouse: the hiccups during the TFC-Nice match
This Sunday, the TFC made its return to Ligue 1. Slight hiccups were observed, in particular the lighting of the spotlights or the hassle to hydrate.
Under a scorching sun, the TFCa returned to Ligue 1 by hosting OGC Nice at home (1-1). To cool off, the Téf players had several water breaks, a classic measure during a summer meeting . As for the public, hydration was not easy for everyone. Some spectators, worried, had questioned the Toulouse football club a few days before the match to find out how to access the water while the bottles are confiscated during the security checks (since July 1, 2022, bottles are prohibited in the stadiums , Editor’s note).
The Téfécé, in view of the situation, guaranteed the price of the bottle of water 1 euro. A distribution within the limit of available stocks of 50 cl recycled cardboard cups was organized so that the public could empty the contents of the bottles. But during the meeting, access to water was complicated. On the social network Twitter, many spectators testified to the galley to cool off. “There were no drinks in the food-trucks, only in the snack bars. The waiting files to access it were endless…”, writes a user.
The president of the club, Damien Comolli, assured on the social network at the blue bird that the TFC took into account the “remarks on the refreshment bars” while specifying “we will improve all that”. The conditions in which the match was taking place outraged supporters. The Indians expressed their disagreement with banners on likely to read “match at 1 p.m. in heat wave for a story of TV rights, you put everyone in danger”.
Spotlights on during the meeting
Another point has polarized the attention of supporters. The stadium floodlights were on in the middle of the afternoon, under a bright sun. “We are told about energy sobriety, here we are a good example”, quips a supporter of the Violets.
According to the football club, it is “the regulations of the LFP. A certain level of lighting must be guaranteed, which imposes a minimum homogeneity of lighting”.
Anxious to improve the next experiences at the stadium for supporters and aware that “everything was not perfect”, the TFCa has put a questionnaire online to find out the opinion on the experience lived within the stadium.
