The fifth year of the Summer Music Academy begins in Kroměříž on Friday
Almost six dozen music students from the Czech Republic and abroad will head to the picturesque Moravian city in just a few days. As part of the accompanying Music Festival in Kroměříž, for example, Ivo Kahánek or Kateřina Kněžíková will perform with Adam Plachetka.
In classrooms ZUŠ Kroměříž AND PJ Vejvanovský Conservatory for the fifth time, the students will be taught by renowned personalities of classical music. Among them this year will be a soprano Kateřina Kněžíkovácellist Michaela Fukačováharpsichordist Barbara Maria Willipianist Ivo Kahanekviolinist Fedor Rudin violist Pavel Nikl. The Studio for Music Managers will once again be led by the Director General of the Czech Philharmonic David Mareček and teaching tutors Zdenek Klauda.
Most of the lecturers will also present themselves as part of the accompanying festival concerts Musical crossbar. It will start on Friday, August 12 with the opening concert La Retour de la Paix (“The Return of Peace”) of the orchestra Collegium Colloredo and sopranos Martina Klaudova. Pianist Ivo Kahanek will play a piano recital together with the laureate of the Kroměříž Academy on Saturday, August 13 Nora Lubbadova. A violinist will also come to Kroměříž to celebrate his life anniversary this year Václav Hudecekto whom a festive symphony concert will be dedicated on Sunday, August 14, in the greenhouse in Kroměřížská Flower gardens. On August 19, opera singers and husbands will perform together there Kateřina Kněžíková AND Adam Plachetka at the Mozartian, scenographically attractive concert named The Return of Amadeus.

Of course, there will also be concerts by students, called Future masters, and an opera gala concert by students Kateřina Kněžíková and Zdenek Klaudy. Folklore will also enter the dramaturgy of the festival for the first time this year: as a guest Tomas Netopil there will be a musician and a folklorist at one of the talks Jiří Pavlica.
The conductor Tomáš Netopil is a native of Kroměříž and the artistic director of the project. “Some students have already achieved great success at competitions here and around the world. Many of them return to us again and again to take advantage of the unique opportunity to expand their talents together with top lecturers.” explains. “In addition, the newly acquired experience can be transformed already during the academy into breathtaking musical performances for the public at the concerts of the Kroměříž Music Festival.”
