tax on extra-profits photovoltaic hoax agricultural enterprises
An abrupt halt to the Italian green turn with irreversible consequences compared to the economic efforts of farmers who have invested in the past in renewable energy.
This is the comment of Cia-Agricoltori Italiani – shared by the president of Cia Siena, Federico Taddei – after the Government’s decision to intervene on the extra profits generated by agricultural photovoltaic systems.
“It is not possible – said the president CIA Cristiano Fini – linking small photovoltaic systems built in connection with the activity – on average small – with large industrial plants, whose core business is the production of electricity ”. The CIA therefore urgently requests a meeting with the Franco, Cingolani and Patuanelli ministries to find together a solution to the serious problem ”.
According to the CIA, the government’s decision represents an act of inconsistency with respect to the objective of self-production of energy with renewable sources for the rural sector.
The law 25/2022, converting the decree-law 4/2022, actually changes the cards at stake, erasing all the acquired rights with a stroke of the pen, in a historical moment in which Italian farmers are victims of crazy cost increases of raw materials and technical safeguards supported to maintain their companies.
“This decision is in strong contrast with the primary objectives of the intervention, which was taken with great interest by agricultural companies and in particular by livestock – continues Fini – while now, with the new legislation, the controlled price of energy can be reduced to a tenth than the market “.
For Cia, “the margins produced by the sale of excess energy from photovoltaic systems Siena, on the other hand, allow farmers who have invested in renewables to integrate their income and absorb the increasingly higher costs of production factors, ensuring companies the economic sustainability ”adds Taddei.
CIA recalls that agricultural entrepreneurs did their utmost during the two-year period of the pandemic to guarantee the country’s productivity and competitiveness. After this decision by the government, few resources, on the other hand, could be used by private individuals not to get into debt so as not to declare bankruptcy or to definitively declare their companies.
