Six new digital services from the Central Macedonia Region – Economix
With six new services, digital governance in the Region of Central Macedonia (PKM) is being strengthened, with the aim of facilitating the daily life of citizens, but also improving productivity and transparency in public administration.
As stated in a PKI announcement, the Vice-region of Digital Governance and the vice-region governor, Angelos Charisteas, has already put in place 22 digital services in the Transport sector and another 88 in sectors such as Health, the Environment, Development and the Agricultural Economy, throughout the Region of Central Macedonia. Since April, when the digital services began to operate, 19,000 citizens have chosen to use them, by “clicking” and avoiding the hassle and queues.
As part of this strategy, since the end of July, the 6 new services, which belong to the Transport Directorates of the Central Macedonia Region, are offered digitally and others:
•Declaration of installation/removal of LPG propulsion in passenger vehicles for private use
• Changing the color of a passenger or two-wheel vehicle for private use
• Transfer of a numbered passenger vehicle or two-wheeler for private use due to inheritance
• Removal of immobility for the re-circulation of a Private Use Truck
• Removal of withholding of ownership of a passenger or two-wheeled vehicle for private use
• Issuance of a disabled parking pass
“The transition to digital service is the absolute priority of the Regional Governor Apostolos Tzitzikostas and the Administration of the Central Macedonia Region. Significant steps have already been taken in enabling our fellow citizens to be served remotely and digitally, saving human resources and reducing costs and inconvenience. Now with the 6 new digital services in the Directorates of Transport we are taking another step. With the final goal of making the citizen’s everyday life easier and simpler”, says Mr. Charisteas.
Besides, the Deputy Regional Governor for Transport and Communications Sokratis Doris, points out that “with the new 6 services for citizens it is obvious: we are saying no to the counter, we are protecting public health and we offer fast service and greater transparency. In this way, the goal we have set from the very beginning to transform the Central Macedonia Region into a Digital Region becomes more feasible.”
