Pulmonologist: The problem is frequent illness from COVID-19 – Bulgaria
When you are sick with COVID-19, the tendency to get seriously ill in the following times is not so great, but with each subsequent illness, this virus damages our system a little bit more,” said pulmonologist Dr. Alexander Simidchiev this morning on the air of “Nova TV”.
COVID-19 is mainly vascular, i.e. the virus attacks the blood vessels and each subsequent illness damages the vessels more and more, he recalled.
Simidchiev commented on the spread of COVID-19 in Bulgaria. The large percentage of positive tests for COVID-19 directs all the tests done at the moment, showing that the tests are correct only for people with highly pronounced symptoms of what is registered, the pulmonologist commented. “Fortunately, the total number of newly infected people is increasing ie. we see that the current peak is trending down,” Simidchiev also said and added: “We see that we are doing better with the pandemic in the long term because they are increasing the number of cases as a percentage of the sick.”
