Heat wave. Toulouse and Haute-Garonne again placed on orange alert by Météo France

It’s confirmed : Toulouse and the Upper Garonne are again placed in orange vigilance in the heat wave, since 4 p.m., this Tuesday August 9, 2022. For the moment this orange vigilance continues until tomorrow Wednesday 4 p.m.
Other departments of Occitania concerned
Placed in yellow vigilance since this weekend, the department therefore switches to orange, like 17 others in France. Just in Occitaniathe Tarnthe Tarn and Garonnethe Plotthe Gers and the High Pyrenees are concerned by this orange vigilance.
Peak up to 40°C
“Temperatures will reach 36 to 38°C in a generalized way in the South-West with locally peaks at 39° or 40°C”, indicates Météo France.
In Toulouse, temperatures should thus reach 36°C, 7°C above the seasonal maximum.
The hot weather will continue
Contacted by Toulouse News, Jean-Frédéric Bondet, consulting meteorologist at Météo France explained: “This episode should peak around the days of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We should reach the heat wave thresholds from Wednesday, on the minimums and maximums. »
This is the fourth time this summer that an orange heatwave alert has been activated in the department of Upper Garonneafter a first red alert in June.
