Drumcode Malta Officially Canceled After Unresolved Problems with Pollen
The next edition of Drumcode Malta will not take place due to an “accumulation of unresolved problems” with the Pollen ticketing platform.
Many techno lovers have long dreamed of getting their dose of underground beats on a picturesque Mediterranean island in Drumcode Malta for years. The initial edition was expected to take place in 2021, but was postponed due to complications during the pandemic, with Drumcode and Pollen looking to greener pastures in 2022 for the experience to debut instead. Earlier this year, they dropped details for the upcoming edition, including a stacked lineup of artists, but the festival is now officially canceled with just over a month until it was set to start in September.
The announcement of the cancellation of Drumcode Malta was received earlier today via mail to the festival social media pages. The Drumcode team states that there were unresolved problems with Pollen that led them to lose confidence in producing an event with high standards of security and customer experience.
The Drumcode team also shed light on the status of refunds for those who were planning to attend the festival. They claim that they did not receive any form of payment from Pollen, as the platform handled all ticket and accommodation package transactions. Pollen also controls the contact details for all attendees, leaving Drumcode unable to handle refunds themselves. Those who had bought tickets or packages should contact Pollen directly at [email protected] or [email protected].
More details can be found via the FAQ on the Drumcode Malta websiteand any question that may not be answered there can be addressed to [email protected].
