The weekly report of cases was issued by EODY for the week of August 01, 2022 – August 07, 2022.
In the reporting week they were recorded 100,421 cases COVID-19 (9,626 per million population: -19% weekly change) of which recurrent matches accounted for 21% of infections. The total number of infections since the start of the pandemic is 4,577,675 of which 51.8% are women. 2The 𝑅𝑡 for the territory based on cases is estimated at 0.93 (95% CI: 0.81 – 1.05)
The total of importsin the territory’s hospitals, in the reference week it was 2,343 patients (7-month m.o.: 335, -8% weekly change), while the total number of discharges amounts to 2,195 patients (7-month m.o.: 314, -1% weekly change).3 The number of patients intubated until end of the reference week is 120 (60.8% male) with a median age of 70 years and 95.0% have no underlying meaning and/or age 70 years or older.
In the reporting week they were recorded 314 deaths COVID-19 patient (30 per million population: -18% weekly change), while since the start of the epidemic, a total of 31,722 deaths have been recordedwith 95.9% had underlying meaning and/or age 70 years or older.
The median age of the cases is 38 years, while the median age of the dead is 80 years.
Samples tested: In the weekly report, the positivity rate was 13.79% in a total of 728,373 laboratory tests (RT-PCR/Rapid-Ag) with a seven-day average of 104,053 samples (-9% weekly change). From January 1, 2020 to August 7, 2022, in the laboratories that carry out tests for SARS-CoV-2 and that systematically declare all the samples they test, a total of 12,142,868 have been tested (7-month AD: 10,939, -10 % weekly change) clinical samples while 77,906,049 samples have been tested from Health Units and Levels of the EODY that carry out Rapid Ag tests (7-month AD: 93,114, -9% weekly change). EODY Mass Sampling: In the reference week, 867 sampling actions were carried out by the Mobile Health Teams (COMY) of the EODY, in which 95,383 Rapid Ag tests were carried out and 16,690 were found positive (17%).
Regarding the geographical distribution of cases in the Regional Unit Thessaloniki 10,941 new cases were recorded, while in Chalcidice with 1,896, the highest number of cases is recorded in the country per 100,000 population (1,871.22 per 100,000 population)
