Athens: The 21-year-old accused of the murder of 17-year-old Nicoleta is sent to prison
After the apology process before the 25th Regular Investigator, the accused for the murder of 17-year-old Nicoleta in Peristeri is sent to prison. The 21-year-old of Pakistani origin has reportedly officially confessed to the crime against his partner.
The young foreigner apologized for about an hour before the court proceedings, a process that started with a delay of three hours as the lawyer hired by the accused’s family surrendered in the morning and another lawyer had to be appointed ex officio by the Investigator.
The apology of the alleged perpetrator of the heinous crime lasted about an hour and upon completion, the Investigator and Prosecutor decided to remand the accused.
According to information, the accused confessed during the court function to the act of the person referred to in a fight he had with Nicoleta on the afternoon in question, giving a religious dimension to the dispute he had with the victim who, according to the 21-year-old, asked him to become a Christian ” and there we argued” as the minor insulted Mohammed, according to the alleged perpetrator.
The accused allegedly told Anakritria that “one more time” he asked Nicoletta to help her with his papers as they were thinking of getting married and having their wedding in Italy. “He asked me to become a Christian and there we argued. Nicoleta spoke badly about Mohammed. There I headlocked her from behind for a few seconds and told her “sorry, apologize”, until I saw her eyes closed and she didn’t react. I thought she fainted for that and I poured water on her and turned on the fan. I left her like that, packed my things and left. I went to Thessaloniki to stay away from her and the next day I found out on TV what happened,” the defendant reportedly claimed.
He is also reported to have said apologizing, that “Nicoleta was the love of my life, I regret it” but also that “I still haven’t recovered from the shock”, while apologizing he said that “I am ashamed to look her mother in the eyes”.
According to what the foreigner allegedly claimed, he found the apartment in Peristeri himself and paid the rent half and half with the mother of the minor.
Finally, regarding the different identification details that he allegedly declared to the authorities, the accused said that it was a mistake by the police officers when they were listed.
The 21-year-old, originally from Pakistan, allegedly suffocated his underage partner with his hands in the apartment where they lived. The victim had a torturous, suffocating death, while the accused, since the same afternoon, is said to have been making sure not only to hide from the authorities, but also to escape abroad, specifically to North Macedonia – most likely to reach the Central European country – where he was arrested.
