A new tram service will start in Budapest from Saturday
The Budapest Transport Center (BKK) will launch a new tram service on Saturday, tram number 2B will run between Pesterzsébet and Jászai Mari tér. The service, which starts as part of the interlacing tram development in Pest, makes three metro lines available without a transfer to the XX. for district residents – reports MTI.
Tram 2B departing from Pesterzsébet, Pacsirtatelep terminus connects to trams 4 and 6 at Boráros tér, 4 at Fővám tér, 1 at Vigadó tér, and 2 at Kossuth Lajos tér. The trams run on the same line as tram 2 between Jászai Mari tér and Haller utca, from there they reach the inner areas of Ferencváros via the track connection previously handed over as part of the Pest interlacing tram project, and then reach the inner areas of Ferencváros on tram lines 51 and 52 XX. to the district Laccirtatelep.
The 2B tram runs every day of the week from Saturday, trains depart every 15 minutes during the day and every 20 minutes in the evening.

The route of trams 2, 2M and 24 will not change, but route 2M will operate more frequently than at present. In the future, tram 51 will only run during peak hours, and you can also use 51A between Ferenc körút and Könyves Kálmán körút. The 51 and 51A trams continue to run on the Mester utca Haller utca and Ferenc körút sections.
