The repair of the south-eastern part of Čelakovsky Gardens in Prague 2 has been completed
“New public lighting was also built. The renovation of this part of the orchards cost 7.1 million crowns,” said the spokeswoman for Prague 2, Andrea Zoulová.
In recent years, the town hall had the staircase and walls, which were in a state of disrepair, repaired. During the reconstruction of the National Museum building, a part of the orchards located in Prague 1 was repaired, as well as the space between the old and new museum buildings, the former Federal Assembly.
“The condition of this part of the park was really alarming. In the revitalized part of the park, a full-fledged rest zone full of greenery was created, which conceptually follows on from the neighboring part of Prague 1,” said Deputy Mayor Václav Vondrášek (ODS).
The renovation concerns the area between Legerova, Škrétova and Čelakovského sady streets. The workers repaired the retaining walls, roads are newly made of stones, and the park sidewalks, which are newly made of granite paving, were also repaired. New rest areas were created in the park and the park furniture was renewed, where the visitor will find new benches, baskets and public lighting lamps. New greenery is planted in the park.
The reconstruction of the part of the park located in the first city district was completed in December 2018. The park included a construction site used for the repair of the historical building of the National Museum. Its repair began in 2015 and ended with approval at the beginning of this year. The reconstruction budget was 2.34 billion crowns.
