the patients of the Oncopole of Toulouse no longer support the wild races under their windows
On Friday evenings, “run” enthusiasts found themselves on the road from Spain to Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), a long and dual carriageway. An illegal activity at the origin of significant noise pollution which is held near the Oncopole where the patients can no longer take it.
The sound of heavy-duty engines and tires squealing on the tarmac hold you back in the middle of the night. It’s nearly 3 a.m. on July 30, 2022 and Serge can’t sleep. This patient of theToulouse Oncopole shares a video on a social network with this comment: “The calm of the night at the Oncopole!!! WHERE ARE THE POLICE???? and they come to line you up for a speeding of a few km/h. That it’s been an hour. I will sleep in an activity room which is quiet.”
He is not the only one to be bothered by these noise nuisances. Several other patients treated in this establishment, taking care of blood diseases such as leukemia and lymphoma, cannot find sleep. All of them, however, need rest to sometimes withstand very intense products.

Very regularly on Friday evenings, many amateurs of “runs” (races) and “rassos” (gatherings) meet near the hospital, route d’Espagne. An artery appreciated for its long straight lines, roundabouts and dual carriageways.
Many videos of these gatherings are shared on social networks, like these, dating from Friday, May 6, 2022:
Races, handbrakes, backfiring exhaust pipes and smoking tires follow one another under the eyes and mobile phones of a large troop of spectators. In these images, it is not uncommon to see National Police cars intervene during rallies or chase a vehicle, often without success.
However, the law of August 3, 2018 is getting stronger the sanctions against these rodeos motorized.

The next morning, on the road and in the car parks, the tire tracks bear witness to these “wild rodeos“. On social networks, automobile and tuning enthusiasts denounce a practice that gives a “bad image at runs“.
