We have always been, throughout our history, as a nation, poor people who, faced with the possibility of getting rich and living with dignity, we refused. Until the wealth and the dignified conditions of a people have to be simultaneously synonymous with violation of their identity, it almost supposes that we will be poor, as a people, in order to maintain our cultural identity and values, we must continue to be poor.
It happened with the time of maritime navigation, the discoveries and the expansion of the sea, later the new state – second republic, some historians, and with it the continuation of the mentality of the poor and unfortunate, where only as ruling classes, social and the elites had to gain, since this state of indigence guaranteed the ability of a people to think and take their destiny into their own hands.
According to a control of ignorance, with a mediocre elite, with the people being totally reserved, of religious and leaders, and some puppets of the political regime, ap(n) people of freedom.
The 25th of April had arrived, with it the hope that it would bring us politicians, selfless public causes, the superiors of the nation and the people. Politicians were expected who, coming from the people, would build a nation based on the vision that “a cultured people, capable and supported by a society built on the values of freedom, would make a prosperous, fair and rich nation”. Nothing would turn out to be more wrong.
Among the promises, from the left to the left, they only focused on defenders of freedom, which, however paradoxically their values were now centered, were all the first democratic freedoms of the supposed new Portugal of freedom. These politicians failed by neglecting the path that a modern Portugal would carry out in the future, through the development of the maxim of – a strong people, makes a capable nation – infamous for the maxims, from the left to the right of – a dependent and non-thinking people, makes a country subjected to politicians, in a dance of power of a bipolar democracy.
In the last 100 years, there have been 41 years of a parliamentary dictatorship and 48 years of a (par)lamenting dictatorship. The first by the autocratic state and the second by the apathetic state.
In these 48 years there will be more winds and storms than promised, the last dances that the April carnations announced. If the first years were initiated by the disorder and orientation of the whole society, which is normal, in a transition phase a nation was trapped, for 41 years, in a system that reduced liberties, civic and entrepreneurial initiatives and the free participation of a market open to the outside, the following years and already belonging to the grandfather of the current European Union, the then EEC, we kept the same status as a nation. Nothing changed. The other politicians took turns, but the politics were the same. Generation after generation society was being renewed, the uneducated people acquiring knowledge of mentality, studies remained equally renewed, but as the same.
The new opportunities are there. The world is reconfiguration due to post-war geopolitics, the climate agenda and the crises, humanitarian food, resulting therefrom, putting Portugal at a kind of crossroads of unique opportunities in its history to change and for which we need and to have audacity. and bravery our eyes set out to the new world, under which of the old people will die, under which they looked and criticized for not resigning themselves to the fate that, from the point of view in which we were born, we must die.
The location and characteristics of Portugal are unique conditions in this new reality of challenges that we will face and that will arise as humanity to the world. A country that has a maritime area with a unique potential for the production of green energies – wind, photovoltaic, hydrogen and biofuels, using this sea of ours again, to launch new faces, such as exclusive offshore platforms that can make Portugal the power that it was in the past, today, facing a world dependent on what we have to offer.
A sea that allows the creation of a new delivery industry, to fulfill the new ones that will emerge with the Climate Agenda, both in the restoration and preservation of ecosystems, as well as in the production of eco-products and, not least, the management of a new capture navy. of carbon dioxide from algae, through kelp forests, this European country may affect neutral in just greenhouse seaweeds (GHG), as well as in the industry, transforming our surplus into a salable product to other countries, while the value of the carbon and GDP has increased significantly nationally and with a significant weight for GDP.
It will be in the light of causes of the history of the new time that created the say0 and new worlds 2050, if end and to the poor nation, once again, the role of new paradigms.
Will there remain for history a poor or a noble people?!
Today, this is an answer that is in an answer that just provided from us. All of us, a nation, must drink from the best characteristics of our ancestors and not from the worst that others have given us, this time renouncing the constant denial of the heritage that is now, once again, given to us by a global urgency, intrinsic to every great opportunity.
