Pino Guidi: “The usual handlers keep speculating on NPLs to the detriment of San Marino”
“It is not possible that the usual handlers can speculate on NPLs to the detriment of the country”. Interview with Pino Guidi: “Bcsm is at a turning point: either it changes or the San Marino citizens will be forced to ask for it to be downsized”
(…) “Bcsm is at a turning point: either it changes or the San Marino citizens will be forced to ask for it to be downsized. As a free citizen, I will be a careful observer, especially on the NPL game ”.
Why precisely on the Npl? “Because it is not possible that once again we think that the usual handlers have the possibility of placing goods on the market at unsuitable prices to the detriment of an important resource of the country (over a billion euros). I believe we must promote a policy of recovery and relaunch of the real estate market within this country of ours. Only afterwards, it seems obvious to me, to talk about sales ”.
That is, you say: the devaluation of assets, in particular real estate, facilitates the acquisition by those who intend to speculate on the recovery of NPLs? “In part it is. I have the impression that today we are trying to offer real estate on the market as they are valued in a precarious and quick solution, without solving the basic problem, which is to first strengthen the value of real estate assets and then sell them. On this, citizens must be careful and rigorous, because it is not only the wealth of the banks, but of the whole country. Heritage of all citizens that cannot be a matter for only a few “.
But are you afraid that NPLs will remain a matter for a few? “Npls are a resource for the country and citizens have the right to know if they are being managed in the best possible way. The fact that little is said about this matter worries me, because it seems to be stuff reserved for the few employees. There is no mention of it and this is very serious. I would not like to see a game like that of Cassa di Risparmio where NPLs have passed from hand to hand several times and therefore it seems logical to me to think that at each step a profit has been made that San Marino has given to others. In short, it seems to me that everyone has done business except San Marino ”.
