Barça is struggling to find new income, sometimes even getting it … from its own players. Athleticism reveals that FC Barcelona have told Frenkie de Jong that they want to cancel his last contract due to malfeasance they are aware of. This does not mean that De Jong will no longer be under contract with FC Barcelona but that he will return to the conditions of his first contract (and not to those of the extension signed in 2020, in which he would agree to defer the payment of 18 millions of euros). This could lead the player to give up part of these 18 million and shed light on the current new standoff between the Jong clan and Barça. the article does not detail the famous “embezzlement” in question. The former management have denied any problems, explaining that the new contract (like those of Lenglet, Pique and ter Stegen, announced at the same time) has been validated by both parties and La Liga.
