Ducár sent his opponent to the ground, but lost unluckily on points
Currently, the best Czech professional boxer, Vasil Ducár, lost his Saturday fight with Jordan Thompson for the IBF European title on points in Sheffield. Even after the Englishman was counted at the very end of the match. “There was about thirty seconds left in which to do it. The opponent did not want to box much and intended to finish the match to the body, which he succeeded in doing. I knew I was going to try to go into it at the end. In retrospect, I think I should have boarded it a little earlier,” assessed Ducár.

Thomp thus scored his fourteenth win in fourteen matches. “He had a good set of tactics, the quality of his team showed and I have to admit that he was well prepared. Anyway, a really small piece was missing, which annoys me even more now,” the Czech boxer regretted.
Despite the great disappointment immediately after the match, Ducář tried to find at least some positives. “The feedback here is good, the audience liked the match. They wanted to take a picture with me here, so I guess I didn’t leave a bad business card. Anyway, I was hoping to break the streak of defeats in title fights, so I’m very disappointed,” added the thirty-two-year-old native of Znojmo, for whom Saturday’s defeat was the fifth in a row in a foreign title fight.
