Andros: A speeder injured a 15-year-old – He was transported by helicopter to Athens
Unclear so far, the causes of a 15-year-old’s injury from a speedboat in the sea area of ”Tis Grias to Pidima” beach in Andros remain.
According to the first information, the minor has been injured in his left hand. He was initially transported for first aid to the island’s Health Center by the 33 speedboat operator, who is held in the context of the preliminary investigation.
The Coast Guard points out that an Air Force helicopter has picked up the 15-year-old for his transport to Elefsina, where an EKAV ambulance will take him to the hospital.
The Ministry of Shipping notes that the minor is in good health and the hand injury does not appear to be serious, however he will be transferred to Elefsina to undergo neurological tests.
The 15-year-old was probably hit by the hull of the speedboat and not by its propeller, as in the second case the hit was more serious. The 33-year-old speedboat operator gave him first aid and took him to shore. It has been captured and will be toxicology tests and breathalyzer.
