POLITICIANS IN THEIR OWN WORDS The Mayor of Prague for the Pirates on his Facebook on August 6 for film incentives
How did you like the movie Gray Man, which was also filmed in Prague?
It’s up to everyone to decide whether they like the movie or not. The fact is that, thanks to him, 750 million CZK flowed into Prague from foreign filmmakers, and he also advertised us in the world. So it definitely paid off for the people of Prague.
By the way, did you know that foreign filmmakers spent almost 9 billion crowns in the Czech Republic last year? Film incentives are responsible for a large part of this. For us, the activity of film crews means income for hotels, restaurants, catering services or even make-up artists. And above all work for thousands of people in the creative industry.
I am therefore glad that the Ministry of Culture, with the support of the Pirates, has increased the budget for film incentives by 570 million crowns. It will significantly help save jobs and the overall turnover of filmmakers here!
