Ukraine bought the first 24 emergency vehicles within the framework of Olena Zelenska’s initiative
The first 24 ambulances have already been received as part of the first lady Olena Zelenska’s initiative to fundraise funds for car ambulances.
It informs press service of the Ministry of Healthreports Ukrinform.
“The first 24 ambulances were purchased within the framework of Olena Zelenska’s initiative. Soon they will go to save lives in Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaivsk, Rivne, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Odesa regions,” the message says.
The Ministry of Health reminded that fundraising was previously opened on the UNITED24 fundraising platform. As of today, 220 million hryvnias have been collected. For a part of these funds, namely 52.8 million hryvnias, SE “Medical Purchases of Ukraine” purchased the first 24 resuscitation vehicles. Soon they will be transferred to emergency medical care facilities of seven regions.
For his part, Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko said that Ukrainian doctors save the lives of thousands of Ukrainians every day, and emergency medical teams are the first to arrive at the scene and create everything necessary to help.
“At the same time, the enemy does not stop attacking our hospitals and ambulances. Every week we have losses, in particular in the fleet of “emergency vehicles”, especially in the front-line areas where active fighting takes place. Therefore, the provided ambulances will be directed to the frontline regions and regions that are actively involved in providing medical aid to the wounded,” he informs.
According to the ministry, these cars are equipped with everything necessary to quickly and safely deliver the seriously injured to the hospital: oxygen cylinders, cardiomonitors and defibrillators, electrocardiographs and ventilators.
“Collection of funds for an ambulance continues on the UNITED24 website. Anyone who wants to can join,” the Ministry of Health specifies.
As reported, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine reported that at the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, 120 million hryvnias were collected for car ambulances.
