Rest on the Dniester – in the territory of Khmelnytskyi, natural locations
Interesting locations and a hotel by the water in Khmelnytskyi
Khmelnytskyi is a tourist region of Ukraine, which has a huge number of “magnets”: palaces, manors and estates. In total, there are more than 3,000 monuments of cultural and historical heritage.
Nature is also impressive – the Podil “sea” of Bakota, a waterfall with a lagoon, rocks and the picturesque banks of the Dniester. Travelers call this place “God’s beauty” and “heaven on earth”, and sea lovers have already appreciated the beach vacation among the rocks.
TRAVEL RBC-Ukraine name several locations where you can have an interesting and comfortable rest.
“The Dniester in Khmelnytskyi region is replacing the sea this year, because it is safe here”
There are tourists in Khmelnytskyi region this year – although there have been fewer organized tours, and more and more Ukrainians are buying their own cars in the region. This is due to the fact that people are afraid to make reservations and plan vacations in advance, because they do not know what the situation will be in the country, RBC-Ukraine explains in a comment Sergey Tolstikhinexpert on tourism development in communities.
“I can confirm 100% that there is tourism in Khmelnytskyi, although it is mostly concentrated near the Dniester. The demand is skyrocketing, there are a lot of people. part of tourists,” the expert notes.

He explains: recreation on the Dniester has always been more active than on the last Khmelnytskyi, but this year is especially so.
“The Black Sea is now inaccessible, the Dnipro is now in the zone of increased danger. Previously, let’s say, residents of Khmelnytskyi who wanted water could go to Zatoka, Zaliznyi Port, Pivdenne. But now they have “cut off” the alternative, but they want water. And here on “The Dniester is close, accessible, and safe for children. Many people are now swimming and relaxing on the shore, and ships and boats are also sailing,” he describes recreation in the region this year.
According to an expert, it is comfortable to swim on the Dniester in Khmelnytskyi region:
“The current in Khmelnytskyi region is much weaker than in Ternopil region, so we have less rafting in kayaks – because you don’t have to row there, but here you do. At Bakota, the Dniester is generally wide and the current is very weak, which creates bad conditions for calm bathing,” says Serhii Tolstikhin.
He warns: it is necessary to realize that rest on the Dniester and the beaches there are not the same as vacationers on the Black Sea are used to. The stone coast prevails, which is compensated by very beautiful views.
“Due to the lack of precipitation and great heat, the Dniester sometimes begins to “bloom”, the water becomes a little green and algae appears, but there are no jellyfish at all,” he calls the “minuses” of the location.

What to see and what locations to visit in Khmelnytskyi
Tourists choose the region due to its greater safety and this number of interesting locations.
“Podillia is one of the tourist pearls of Ukraine. Now, in the conditions of the military aggression of the Russian Federation, many tourist destinations have been cut off. In fact, the entire coast of the Black Sea, the entire East. Therefore, it is very important to visit Podillia this year – we have a very safe region, there are very few military, infrastructural, and large industrial facilities,” Serhiy Tolstikhin says about the safety of travel.
According to him, the second “magnet” is that there are more than 3,000 objects of cultural and historical heritage, many objects of sacred architecture, and landscapes in the Khmelnytsky region.
