Jornal de Leiria – Two young people from the region today in a Lisbon district screening
Two young people from the Leiria region, a boy and a girl aged around 18, died today following a car crash at IC2, in the Alcoentre area, in the municipality of Azambuja, district of Lisbon.
According to the General Command of the National (GNR), “the screening that took place with 12 of IC2 still has one female injured and one seriously injured male, all aged 5 19”.
According to data gathered by JORNAL DEIRIA from various elements of intervention in the relief operation, “the young people are from the municipalities of Marinha Grande and AlcobaƧa”.
A source from the GNR Command confirms that “the victims are from the Leiria region, as the information was transferred to the relatives of this area to speak with the elements”.
The transport vehicle “crashed against a pole, in the South – North direction” and the injured were “transported to the Vila Franca de Xira Hospital”, adds the 2nd Commander of the Volunteer Firefighters.
The Lisbon District Operations and Relief Command (CDOS) added that “the alert for the occurrence was received at 7:29 am and, for the location, resources from INEM, GNR, the Volunteer Firefighters of Azambuja, the Volunteer Firefighters of Alcoentre, CVP and EDP”.
Circulation in both directions of the IC2, between Espinheira and Acoentre, was cut off during the restoration process for around six hours, having been cut off at 1:42 pm.
