Hat glued to pigeon in Amsterdam: ‘Not funny and even dangerous’
After someone shared images (funny on images) on Friday, it didn’t start long before the Stadsduiven Hulp foundation came into action. The pigeon grew large and the hat removed with the utmost care. “Normally we would do that with oil, but because the hat was so sturdy, we cut some feathers for it,” Billie Savage of the foundation.

The pigeon in question will be fine, but it may not be with this one bird, Savage says. “We came across a pigeon with glue residue on its head nearby and we have also received reports from two places of elders in the city.”
It is unclear who is behind it. It may have been formed by a manufactured object in Los Angeles. happened there in January 2020 something similar.
Anyone who encounters a pigeon with headgear is generally advised to contact the Stadsduiven foundation of the animal ambulance. An employee of Dierenambulance Amsterdam says she has not received any reports.
Gluing a hat to a pigeon is not funny and even dangerous, says Savage. “Pigeons must be able to look around well. Otherwise they can fall to birds of prey. People may think it looks like it, but it isn’t: so never do it again.”
