Falls inanimate after being hit with a stone on the head in Lisbon
A homeless man was unconscious this Sunday, in Lisbon, after being hit with a stone on the head during a fight with two people. The end of the conflict was done by an agent fighting PSP agents and prevented the agents from escaping. Both were, after them, identified, and one of them was previously arrested, hours later, for assaulting an official. The injured man has now been discharged from the hospital.
The altercation took place around 12 noon, next to the Pin Doce do Cais do Cais, and was recorded on video by people and lasted about 30 seconds. At first, two men engage in physical confrontations on an esplanade, with a third element to observe.
This third element pulls the man identified as homeless by the PSP, seeming, at first, to want to calm him down. However, soon after, he punches him, at the same time that the first element moves away to grab a stone on the pavement.
Seconds later, that first element hits his opponent with the object he has just picked up, still applying a kick to him when he was already on the ground, possibly unconscious. The two aggressors should not activate the place because, at that moment, a PSP agent appeared, gun in hand and ordering: “Down! Lie!”.
One of those responsible had police hours before
The video ends moments but, according to JN found out together with the official source of the PSP in Lisbon, the two aggressors ended up complying with the agent’s orders, who received reinforcements in this regard.
Both assailants were known, with the police selected who already had priors. These took place on the same day, just before: around 7.30 am the PSP, one of the men had been arrested by a freedom agent, having been, however, according to freedom.
Also according to the police, the assaulted man was taken to the hospital, having also received support from a team of social workers. He will have been discharged around 5 pm.
The PSP awaits the results of the hospital exams for an aggression if it was a simple physical sensation of gravity or if, due to possible sequels, it could constitute a more serious situation.
Confirming that it was an offense to the simple physical part, the crime is public. For this reason, the criminal procedure depends on the presentation of a complaint – something that, as far as JN has learned, the victim has not shown, for now, any intentions to do.
