A video about Moldova went viral on the Internet and gathered over 2 million views in a few days. The video was published by three Swedish vloggers, who set out in search of the poorest state in Europe, and arrived in our country. The young people’s adventure took another turn, thanks to an old man they met on the streets of the capital.
The young tourists’ adventure started from a simple curiosity to find out which is the poorest country in Europe. They searched for the answer on the Internet, and the search engine brought them to Moldova for three days.
“We are the only foreigners here at the moment. Everyone was looking at us.”
Right from the first day, the young people, eager to discover Chisinau, walked the streets of the capital.
“I see a lot of European Union flags around here. Why are these flags, do you want to become part of the EU?
– Future.
– Thank you. A good day.
– They are trying to become part of the EU, but they are not accepted for now.”
They were fascinated by the damaged old buildings, which are found at every corner in the capital, but also by places that remind of the Soviet Union. But the trip took another turn after the young people met an old man.
“We did not think that the person we will meet will not completely change the trip.
– Hello. Do you have a park somewhere?
– You must go to the Botanical Garden with trolleybus number 4.”
Thus, guided by grandfather Mihai, the young people set off in search of the most beautiful places in the capital … the Valea Trandafirilor park, … Chisinaul at night, … the beach at Vadul-lui-Voda, and at the end of the journey, they also visited a castle.
After they met the old man Mihai, the young people said that in fact, this is the true wealth of the country, the kindness and hospitality, of which it gave proof. And in Moldova, say the Swedish tourists, there are places that really deserve to be visited.
“That’s why I don’t like the question: what is the best and worst place on earth, because it was impossible to predict or such an experience. Moldova really had so many great things to offer. We discovered these places through Mihai’s eyes.”
Up to this moment, the video published on YouTube has collected over 2 million views.
