Vandas’ KO, Líšeň defeated Varnsdorf after a dreamy seven-minute match
At the same time, the beginning of the match did not bring much fun. The Brno team started from a solid defense, Varnsdorf had a hard time breaking through the defensive rampart. “We wanted to let the opponent play a little, to draw the Varnsdorf defenders out a little. We didn’t want to open up the game too much because they have speedy types of footballers in attack. And it worked out for us,” Valachovič gloated.
Awesome Armory. From Olomouc, he is winning after twenty years
However, Líšeň decided the match in an unusual way, when it decided the entire match in seven minutes. “I’m sad, I feel like talking stupidly. The home team taught us a great lesson. They let us out in the open and then completely knocked us down. That was crazy, I felt very bad at that moment on the switch, we were ready to throw in the towel. Líšní didn’t succeed in that huge passage, and we didn’t at all,” Varnsdorf coach Miroslav Holeňák didn’t understand.
Vandas scored all three goals in his competitive debut at the Lišeň Stadium. And the first two actions were really worth it, a successful combination in particular, he emerged twice by himself in front of the goalkeeper, whom he fired at once, lobbed the second time. He then completed the hat-trick from a scrum after a set piece. “It was really a KO, like getting punched in the mouth with a boxer. We made defensive mistakes, that shouldn’t happen to us. When this happens, we cannot think of any good result,” continued Holeňák.
Despite the convincing knowledge, however, coach Valachovič did not praise his charge too much for the half-time break, namely for committing unnecessary drama. “Even at 3-0, I raised my voice in the booth at halftime. I’ve seen enough games where the team lost the lead by three goals, so I mainly didn’t want to get a goal early in the second half. We didn’t stroke each other’s hair in the cabin, but we emphatically told each other what we were going to do next,” outlined the strategist.
In the second half, although Varnsdorf created some pressure and got some interesting chances, they were unable to recover from the hard direct. “During the break, the boys screamed as soon as they arrived in the cabin, kicked the benches, maybe they didn’t break anything. That’s why I didn’t even yell at them anymore, rather I tried to solve what to do with the result. We all knew we did it, but we wanted to dramatize the game. But it didn’t work out at all,” lamented Holeňák.
We did not sit down with Jílek, Texl revealed. What does he say about the new competitor in the reserve?
The Brno team also benefited from high-quality pre-match scouting, thanks to which the Lišť implementation team was surprised by only one change. “We knew that they brought in Kristian Michal from Liberec during the week, so they will mix up the lineup a bit. Coach Holeňák surprised us only by not playing Bojan Dordič from the beginning. Otherwise, our forecasts came true,” Valachovič assessed.
So far, Líšeň has made the most of the initial challenging draw. However, he will defend his sovereign record next week on the unpopular Vlašim soil. “We were very worried at the beginning of the season, we talked about the fact that we could easily have zero points after the matches in Dukla, with Varnsdorf and in Vlašimi. But we confirmed in the first round that we can play with everyone,” added Valachovič.
