GREVENMACHER – A motorist lost control of his vehicle on the A1, after refusing to be checked by the police on the A7 and fleeing.
It was a little before midnight on Friday evening when a police patrol wanted to check a motorist on the A7 motorway, the Grand Ducal police indicated in their bulletin. The driver refused to comply before fleeing at high speed on the A1 in the direction of the east, still according to information sent by the authorities.
At the height of Potaschberg, the motorist lost control of his car which ended its race off the road. After first aid from the emergency services, the driver was taken to hospital for a check-up. The alcohol test was positive, the driver’s license of the fugitive was withdrawn and the accident vehicle confiscated by order of the prosecution.
A vehicle completely destroyed by flames
This Saturday morning, shortly before 6 a.m., another accident occurred on the CR153 between Moutfort and Dalheim, in the south-east of the Grand Duchy. A motorist told police he lost control of his car after hitting a deer. His vehicle rolled over in the nearby field and caught fire.
The two people on board managed to get out of the car before it burned completely. The driver was subjected to a rapid alcohol and drug test. His driver’s license was taken away from him and the accident was recorded in a report. The lane must be closed to traffic during the rescue operation. The two occupants were taken to hospital for a check-up.
