Igor Tudor wants to follow the example of AC Milan
Igor Tudor arrives at Olympique de Marseille with new playing methods which had difficulty in passing at first. The Croatian coach returned to what he is trying to convey to the team.
After the broadcast of Jorge Sampaoli, Pablo Longoria had to find a new coach and therefore signed Igor Tudor. Unknown to some, the Croatian coach has implemented a new working method, which has gone badly with some players. Newly, a crisis meeting was held to ease tensions. Igor Tudor came back to his method and even if he is aware that it doesn’t work the same way for everyone, he believes in his way of doing things.
“The example is the Milan of Pioli”
“There are differences at the level of the players according to the championships. But in the end, it’s not the Italian, French or German foot, it’s a trainer’s foot. I have always believed that the results were obtained through fatigue, at the cost of real effort, with a team that runs a lot. Football is evolving in this direction, we see that the teams which have more intensity and play in a more vertical way obtain more results. The example is the Milan of Pioli. They have the game that we would like to obtain, a vertical game, with one against one, a lot of intensity. It’s a team that on paper was announced 4th or 5th and they ended up champions. They understood that football was changing and they took players capable of supporting this rhythm of play.
With the resumption of the championship, OM face Reims this Sunday. Tudor’s men must be ready at least physically because they looked very tired during the warm-up matches. It will certainly take some time for players to fully adapt to the Tudor method.
