Frankfurt Airport collects posters with Hong Kong propaganda
Two large posters at the airport were for China’s crackdown in Hong Kong. The field on nobody – then the propaganda was hastily removed.
Frankfurt Airport has taken down two posters showing Chinese propaganda about life in Hong Kong. A spokeswoman for the operating company Fraport confirmed to t-online that the content of the posters had been checked again after a request from the “Bild” newspaper and that it had now been recognized that this would not happen “to the political situation”.
The two advertising posters, which according to the spokeswoman were hanging in the transit area of Terminal 1 of Germany’s largest airport until the middle of this week, promise that Hong Kong is about to enter a “new era of stability, prosperity and opportunities”. The head of government of the Chinese special administrative region, John Lee, who was appointed by an election committee loyal to Beijing at the beginning of May this year, then has his say on the website there.
Frankfurt Airport withdraws China propaganda
Lee is of the opinion that the “steadfast and successful implementation” of the principle of “one country, two systems” is currently taking place in Hong Kong. To celebrate this, Hong Kong is now planning a series of festivities. The principle, which the Chinese government has committed to by 2047, provides that Hong Kong can make largely autonomous decisions about fundamental rights and the judicial system.
