Dragić will officially join Dončić, who will play for Slovenia at EuroBasket
EuroBasket will feature some of the NBA’s top talent in September. Giannis Antetokounmpo — and all three of his brothers — will go to Greece. Nikola Jokić will play for Serbia. Rudy Gobert will play for France. Domantas Sabonis he will commit them to Lithuania.
Now add Goran Dragić to the Slovenian team that already had Luka Dončić registered.

Dragić scored 35 points in the championship game and led Slovenia to the EuroBasket 2017. He is a legend in his home country and someone who can still contribute to winning basketball. There were some concerns about getting adequate insurance for the two NBA players on the team, but that was resolved.
Slovenia took fourth place at the 2020 Olympic Games, exited the group stage and beat Germany in the first round for medals, then lost to France in the semi-finals. Australia defeated Slovenia in the fight for bronze. They enter EuroBasket as a team with legitimate medal chances.
At EuroBasket 2022, Slovenia is in Group B with old friends Germany and France, as well as Hungary, Lithuania and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It’s a stacked group, but the top four will advance to the 16-team medal round (a higher place in the group should make it easier to get through the single-elimination rounds).
Dragic will play as a backup point guard for the Bulls this season and could be a big addition to Chicago’s bench.
