For the second time in a row, Antonia Missethan and Julia Rauch deserved to win the tournament in Gmünd. Because last year the two Austrians won the European Championship title on Playa de Gamundia.
This year Missethan and Rauch had to give up the first set 15:18 in the final against Itziar Cid and Yosy Silva from Spain. A 18:11 win in the second round led to the decisive third set, which the two Austrians won 15:10.
Third place went to the Netherlands with Evelyn Dobinga and Emmelie Van Der Velde thanks to a two-set win (18:10, 18:14) in the small final against Illy Levy/Marjorie Finguermann from Israel.
The men’s quarter-finals will be played this Sunday from 9 a.m.:
1: Israel I – Germany II
2: Spain – Austria
3: Germany I – Israel II
4: Italy – France
At 4.30 p.m. the final will be held on the Gmünd market square.
