An AS Monaco defender targeted by the RCSA
RC Strasbourg Mercato: To strengthen the position of Alexander Djiku, announcement on the departure, the RCSA would have ticked the name of an AS Monaco defender.
RC Strasbourg Mercato: Matsima to replace Djiku at RCSA
Faced with tough competition in defense at AS Monaco, Chrislain Matsima (20 years old) would please RC Strasbourg. Attentive to the situation of the young central back, the Alsatian club is trying to recruit him, in anticipation of the probable transfer of Alexandre Djiku (28 years old). The signing of the RCSA defender in Hoffenheim was certainly aborted, but he is still very coveted and on the way out. As for Chrislain Matsima, his profile would be ideal to take the place of the Ghanaian international (17 caps) in the eyes of the technical staff of RC Strasbourg.
Barred by Axel Disasi, Benoît Badiashile and Guillermo Maripan in the hierarchy in his position at AS Monaco, the young defender would be inclined to leave in order to give himself the means to find playing time. Especially since the arrival of Malang Sarr in the Principality is in the pipes. Chrislain Matsima’s rating on the transfer market is attributed to 5 M€ and his contract on the Rock runs until June 2025. In the absence of a direct transfer, RC Strasbourg could perhaps arrive in Alsace in the form of a loan.
AS Monaco Mercato: Young people in great difficulty at ASM
We also note that Magnes Akliouche (20 years old), an attacking midfielder, who arrived at AS Monaco in 2017 like Chrislain Matsima, should also leave the Côte d’Azur in order to have playing time with another club. Ditto for versatile striker Willem Geubbels (21) who returned to AS Monaco after his one-season loan to FC Nantes. As a reminder, Monaco transferred Strahinja Pavlovic (21) to RB Leipzig for €7m and Pietro Pellegri (21) to Torino FC for €5m. As for Radoslaw Majecki (22, goalkeeper), he was loaned to Cercle Brugge in Belgium this summer.
