The first part of DAVID 140 has just ended, the program of events created by the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence to celebrate 140 years since, on 22 July 1882, the Tribuna was inaugurated. born on a project by the architect Emilio de Fabris to guard and preserve Michelangelo’s David from bad weather. For those who were unable to participate in these meetings or for those who want to see them again, a starting from 3 August, on the website of the Gallery, it will be possible to find the recordings of some interventions.
The program, conceived as director by Cecilie Hollberg, who from 9 May to 27 June last, saw many guests – including musicians, art historians and international intellectuals – pay homage, right under the skylight of the Tribuna, to the genius of the Florentine sculptor and to his worldwide masterpiece.
