Adam Wallin will represent Sweden at the World Amateur – Ohio State Buckeyes
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sweden native and Ohio State rising junior Adam Wallin has been selected to represent his home country later this month in the 32n.d Amateur team WC in France.
The tournament runs August 31 – September 3 at Le Golf National outside Paris, France. Teams of three players will compete against the world’s leading amateurs over 72 holes of stroke play. The biennial event is organized by the International Golf Federation, which consists of 151 national golf governing bodies in 146 countries, and 22 international professional tours and major championship organizations. Le Golf National hosted the 2018 Ryder Cup and will also host the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Wallin had a stellar sophomore season, posting eight top 20 finishes with a 71.97 scoring average over 11 events and 32 rounds. He also picked up his first collegiate win, winning Colleton River Collegiate at 14 under par. Wallin had 10 rounds in the 60s and a total of 17 rounds at par or better. He was the Buckeye shortstop at that year’s NCAA Championships.
Already this summer, Wallin has represented Sweden at the EC in amateur teams, EC in amateur teams and St. Andrews Trophy which was a match game between amateurs from Continental Europe and Great Britain and Ireland.
