Prague announces a grant program to support increasing the level of education and innovation

Today, the Prague councilors approved the declaration of the City-wide Education Support Program in the territory of the capital. m of Prague for the year 2023 on the basis of theses contained in the Long-term plan for education and development of the educational system of the capital. m of Prague 2020-2040.
It is focused on seven thematic areas with a financial allocation of 13 million crowns.
“Through Prague’s efforts, it has long been profiled as a center of innovation and a city that constantly improves the quality of the education offered. Our task is mainly to support and coordinate innovation efforts and not to try to prescribe strict limits of innovation agendas that could turn into social engineering. Therefore, grant programs are one of the ideal instruments of this policy. Instead of inventing from the table, it is better to support something that is tested and works,” said councilor for education Vít Šimral.
The first thematic area focuses on institutions supporting the development of education with universities, scientific and research and non-governmental organizations and on supporting the management and teaching staff of schools and educational facilities in the capital city. m of Prague.
The aim of the second measure is to support new forms and methods of teaching for children, pupils and students in schools and educational facilities in Prague (with university teaching), including the organization of knowledge and art competitions, support for participation in international professional, professional or art competitions and support for financial literacy pupils and students of schools and school facilities. The third measure seeks to support the development of education for children with special educational needs.
The fourth is support for the education of senior citizens. The fifth measure is the opening of playgrounds operated by elementary schools established by municipal districts of the capital. The sixth is the SOLIDARITY FUND, which is aimed at preventing social exclusion in schools established by the city districts of the capital. m of Prague.
