Benelux Liberal Initiative sends Portugal guide to Paulo Cafôfo and denounces “contempt and abandonment of communities”
The core of the Benelux Liberal Initiative party envy the Secretary of State for the Portuguese Communities a Guide to Portugal, “which he can share with his family. And it’s even in English, you don’t even need to have it translated for the benefit of tourists”, declared Manuel Baptista.
With this initiative, the Benelux Liberal Initiative intends to denounce “futile promises” of the Government Program, such as the creation of a map of commerce, services and restaurants, with identification and georeferencing of establishments in these sectors.
“Restaurants and shops in Portugal are worth their while. You don’t need the Government to spend money on a map, which will then cost even more money to upgrade. There are already guides and maps, printed or digital, that help those who need to find and choose a restaurant or a store” Manuel Baptista, Coordinator of IL Benelux, adding that only the Government can help Portuguese communities not to wait endlessly to be able to use the consular services or for their children to take Portuguese classes.
“Since the amount of handshakes recently by the Government, this number cannot be measured. By promise, the Benelux Liberal Initiative will lend a hand, and help you to fulfill one of its promises”, adds a note that touches the core of the Party.
“Together with the guide, we sent a letter with specific questions about the vague promises that the government made to emigrants. The Liberal Initiative will not leave it clear what this Government will vote to indicate the problems of the Community to solve, and hopes that they face to solve the problems”, affirmed the concrete project of IL Benelux.
Benelux Liberal Initiative condemns “the contempt and abandonment to which the government votes as Portuguese communities abroad”.
“For now, emigrants have not yet been asked not to use consular services, but the Benelux Liberal Initiative considers it unnecessary. Renewing the Citizen’s Community Card or a wedding but they come up against closed doors and the very inferior services of the Portuguese or closed doors “says the note from the Benefício da Iniciativa Liberal.
In addition to the difficulty in accessing the consulate, the IL nucleus in Benelux considers that “the teaching of Portuguese abroad continues with the same difficulties as always and the number of students is decreasing”.
